ATI, NVIDIA’s meanest competitor has just announced their new memory technology GDDR3. These memories will be used in ATI’s new graphic cards. Although we don’t have much information, it is rumoured that these memories will operate at 800 MHz. (current DDRs work at 650 MHz.) The technology is being developed with the cooperation of some giant companies like Elpida and Hynix Semiconductor. The new technology is expected to be on the market in the middle of the next year.
